Just been looking at my old blog and notice that I had 20 views on the 28th January all from people in Russia. Does this mean my blog went viral (a very miner infection) for one day in one place? How very odd!! Or did the same person look 20 times in one day??
I haven't blogged for ages now. Sorry to all my avid readers (all 2 of you ha ha)!! The Wallace family are getting back into the swing of things post Christmas so not a lot to report. I think I have had some January blues (always happens - probably because I love Christmas so much!!) and I think I have post 40 blues too! Last year was so busy, fun and exciting when celebrating being 40 and doing all those 40 things, I am sorry its over! But that's why I started this blog and gave myself a few extra tasks. Need to snap out of it - its February tomorrow so no more January blues!! ha ha

Let me update you on a few things that have been happening. Last week was Burns night and being that Iain is half Scottish and the children are therefore a quarter Scottish I decided Haggis was in order (Julie and I spend a lovely morning in Costco sampling lots of food including the Haggis I went on to buy!). Iain and I liked it, George ate it and Sophie tried a small bit and said it was spicy. We told them it was mince to start with and confessed at the end. We didn't need to do this as they knew all about it, as apparently it was discussed in Assembly!

Last Saturday we went shopping - so George could spend his Christmas money. We came back with some new furniture instead!

4 new leather dining chairs

Conservatory sofa - that can live outside - that special Rattan effect

We are very pleased with ourselves as they were both bargains from the Debenhams outlet shop! Must go back for more goodies!!

Iain took the old couch to the tip (thank you Mark for vehicle big enough to take couch) and brought back some loft boards (thank you Mark for the boards you were about to tip). So much for de-cluttering!! But I am hoping the loft boards will mean we will sort out the loft and bin some things? That's the plan for this weekend! The excitement is too much!!

Today the Wallace family made a snow man in the back garden.

It snowed yesterday!! Hurrah! After the chaos of school closing and lunch. Myself, George and Sophie went with the Laybourne family to Arthur Newberry Park for some sledging.

Julie and Mark celebrating their 10th Wedding anniversary in style!!!

There are also some videos. I have put them on George and Sophie's pages rather than here. We spent hours sledging - great fun!!

A flurry of snow today meant some small snow animals were made!

Yesterday we went to Dobbies Garden centre and bought a Holly plant. So that we can remember Holly (but not have to dig a grave or have some ashes at home) we thought a nice plant. Iain potted it today and we had a small prayer to celebrate Holly's life and wish her the best in cat heaven.

Here is the plant.

A sad day for the Wallace's. RIP Holly (our much loved cat) who was put to sleep after a long illness.

Here are some photos

What we did today:

George, Sophie and I went to the Hexagon today to see the Pantomime. It was Beauty and the Beast.

Was great fun as always. Thank you Julie for booking and organising the tickets. Thank you to Granny and Grandad Wallace for buying the tickets (our Christmas present).

One of the year 6 girls was a dancer in the show and Alex (from George's class) went on stage to sing with Justin (of Mr Tumble fame!).

taking over the blog!

Can't help myself I need to blog here in the Wallace family pages. Updating Janette's page is not easy as adding information to an additional page means I need to mess about with the layout of the page. It is easy just to post here. But as I am a Wallace I have decided it is ok!! Perhaps I should have created my own blog but then we would be overrun by blogs!! I think I like writing the blog as it’s a bit like writing a diary?

So today I found a new website: www.365lessthings.com

It about a person who de-cluttered by getting rid of 365 things over 365 days. Seems like a good idea. So on my resolution list number 8) de-clutter the house. I am not aiming for 365 things though!

And also I have a got a book out of the library (from the children’s section) called 'how to make Stonehenge out of biscuits'. It has 366 ideas for things to do over a year. Lots of ideas I could have used last year and a few to steal for this year!

A great one is to create a playlist of songs - one for every year of my life. I wonder if it is possible to collect 40 (or 41) songs without having to buy them?? So I have added that to my resolution list (see Janette’s page- number 9). I think Claire and I will do this together (she is also completing a 40 by 40 list).

Anyone got any good songs from the last 40 years??

And finally a winter picnic - very possible at this time of year!! (number 10)

I was beginning to think I would not have anything to write about but on the 2nd Jan we took down the Christmas decorations. I know this is before we should but as they have been up since the 1st December it was time to take them down. So I removed all of the baubles, lights and tinsel off the tree. But how to get the tree out of the house without pine needles pinging everywhere?? I remembered back to my childhood and vaguely remember mum and dad putting the tree inside an old duvet and then carrying it out. We thought we would try this.

It started well but then I think the tree was just too big!! Iain now looks like Santa!!
